Entertaining, educational and beautiful tour

If you're a history or archaeology buff, a family with precocious or curious kids, or someone who wants to appreciate the magnificence of Teotihuacan through the eyes of someone who knows the site down to the pebbles, this is your tour. David is a fantastic guide with infectious passion, and as an archaeology student he was able to share photos and information about excavations in areas too delicate or dangerous for tourists. The more you learn about Teotihuacan, the more incredible it becomes - and you will learn a LOT on this tour!

David was a really great expert on the civilization of Teotihuacan, despite the amount of mystery that archeologists still haven't figured out. He was able to tell us both about the well-established theories, and about the current controversies in the field, with competing interpretations of what some of these structures might have been used for.

He was also able to arrange to pick us up in Mexico City for an additional fee, which was very convenient.
The best way to experience Teotihuacan

This was an incredible experience! I had been to Teotihuacan before a few years ago and self toured, and knew I wanted a more informative experience this time around. Jorge did not disappoint! His expertise are just amazing - like he's literally been a part of excavations in tunnels at the site. If you're a history nerd like me, this is definitely the right way to tour. You will get so much more than any regular guide could offer! His knowledge is so extensive and he's so clearly passionate about these ruins and the people behind them.

David was the best guide for seeing and understanding this amazing site in Mexico. He has a degree in archaeology and brings not only his academic interpretation to this place but an enthusiasm and perspective that is infectious! He brings additional material
In his own “guidebook” to share with you. He is respectful, kind and interested in making your trip a special one. He is able to Impart his knowledge in a clear and articulate way; his English is very good. You could not ask for a better person to experience Teotihuacan with and through than this amazing Mexican guide who is proud and passionate and loves so much what he does.
The absolute best. Fantastic, energetic and knowledgeable guide.

I have traveled to many historical sites and ruins around the world and have had great guides. However, Jorge Archer is without doubt the best tour guide I have ever had anywhere. He is a PhD Anthropologist who has studied Teotihuacan for years and has participated in digs at the site. I thought I knew something about pre-Hispanic civilizations but was happily disabused of some of my preconceived notions by his encyclopedic knowledge of every aspect of Teotihuacan and other mesoamerican cultures. He uses a binder with drawings and photos of relevant carvings and renderings of the city, plus an iPad with incredible photos to supplement his really fascinating and learned talk. It is unusual to find someone who loves his work so much. Book him while you can, because he mentioned he may be moving to a permanent research position with the Mexican Institute of Anthropology and History in another city soon.
