I wanted to not only visit the shrine but also to be able to pray while we were there and our guide Ligia accommodated us very well. She was very knowledgeable of the history of each of the apparition points and she very kindly waited with us for the services. The transportation service was excellent and we would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit this shrine and make a pilgrimage out of it.
Wonderful tour of Guadalupe Shrine

It was our first time in Mexico City and looked forward to our tour of the Guadalupe Shrine. We were not disappointed!! Our guide was Mirian and Joseluis drove for us. (spelling?)

They were not only professional and knowledgeable, they were quite pleasant and friendly. We always felt safe and the Shrine should be a part of anyone's visit to Mexico City. It's a bit of a drive from the downtown area but so well worth it.

I also got a real sense of the pride our hosts had for the Shrine and their city...

Bascilica de Guadalupe

This destination is vast and quite a bit of walking. We arrived towards the end of a catholic mass it was quite inspiring to see the congregants and their devotion to this historical place. The Basilica is very large and houses the actual original painting of the event. Gardens and statuary abound and there is a steep walk up to one if the highest vistas in the area gardened and terraced atop. As I was still suffering slightly from altitude sickness (Day1 in Mexico City) - I elected not to take the trek up. All in all spent more than 4 hours discovering the beauty of this site. I am not religious but maintain am spiritual plus devoted to leaving less of a carbon footprint upon this planet. I especially appreciated the spirituality this site brought out of me. I feel strongly that this site is a must see for Mexico City if not for the artifacts and natural beauty - the people watching is extraordinary.
