Overview

The Frida Kahlo Museum is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City, the center of Coyoacán.
The Blue House is the Intimate Universe of Frida Kahlo. In this beautiful residence, the artist lived most of her life; initially with his family and years later, with Diego Rivera. Likewise, interesting Mexican and foreign visitors stayed in this place, attracted by the captivating couple of artists.

Frida wanted to leave her home as a museum, to learn and enjoy her beloved Mexico. For this reason, after his death, Diego organizes the Frida Kahlo Museum here.

The museography was in charge of the museographer, teacher and great Tabasco poet Carlos Pellicer, a very close friend of the couple. The administration of the Museum was entrusted to the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Museum Trust, attached to the Bank of Mexico and established by Rivera himself in 1957.

What a moving experience to visit Casa Azul. I’m so glad I made advance reservations with Viator. We can’t wait to visit again.

It was a pleasing experience to see where this unique woman lived. Definitely pay the 30 pesos to take pictures. Recommend going early and during the week to avoid crowds. Diego Riveras home is not close as I thought it was.
A house full of art work

If you are a huge fan you will like it. Nothing mind blowing. You walk through 3 rooms with some of her and Diego’s art work and her room set up.
Different time than on website!

Great museum! I originally purchased 8 tickets and then needed one more for the same day/time. I purchased them all for 1pm thinking that was the time I’d be let in, but when got to the museum I noticed 8 tickets had the time for 1:45pm and the other one for 1:15. Luckily the employees let us all go in together (they let you as long as you go in at the latest time on the tickets), but it was misleading to buy them here on Viator for 1pm but get tickets for a time within the 1pm time frame. I do however recommended buying them here. You can absolutely NOT purchase tickets AT the museum. These were legit and had no other issue other than the one noted above!
