Overview

Get to know several of Frida Kahlo's favorite places, starting with the guided tour of San Ángel, a beautiful picturesque town within Mexico City. Here we will get to know the Religious Art of the Carmelites, the Plaza San Jacinto and one of the most representative colonial-style mansions of San Ángel "La casa del Risco". Then we will visit the colors of Xochimilco, place of flowers, a World Heritage Site. Here you will not only get information about its origins, which date back to pre-Hispanic times, but you will also be able to enjoy a traditional trajinera ride. Floating Gardens of Xochimilco
Xochimilco, an agricultural area 28 km (27 miles) south of Mexico City, where many of the city's flowers are grown. In Aztec times, this valley was a lake. Find out how the local people, as an alternative to the lack of farmland, developed islands with floating earth-covered mats and used them as gardens called chinampas. Today, these gardens are an ecological reserve and belong to the UNESCO World Heritage list and one of Frida Kahlo's favorite places. Here you will not only get information about its origins, which date back to pre-Hispanic times, but you will also be able to enjoy a traditional trajinera ride.

Coyoacan
After Xochimilco you will visit the wonderful neighborhood of Coyoacán, whose name in Nahuatl means place of coyotes. Here, our guide will give you an explanation about the origin and importance of this neighborhood and its surroundings.

Museo Frida Kahlo
During our visit to Coyoacán, if it is of your interest, you will have an hour of free time to visit Frida Kahlo's Blue House (Entrance not included, so you must anticipate your purchase online in case you want to make the visit). If you buy your tickets you will have the opportunity to learn about the intense relationship between Frida, her work and her house, the place where she was born and died. Although when she married Diego Rivera she lived in different places in Mexico City and abroad, Frida always returned to her house in Coyoacán.
