Great Pyramid of Cholula - fantastic!

The weather was great and the churches on the tour were beautiful. Tops - at the top of the Great Pyramid of Cholula is the Church of Our Lady of the Remedies, a beautiful and ornate church in a picturesque setting. Just fabulous!
Great Puebla trip

We had a wonderful day. Our driver Juan and guide Alan were great. Alan was fun and very knowledgeable. He did well to blend culture, history, religion and current politics. We came away enriched and satisfied. We were not able to see the volcanoes due to cloud cover and we could not tour the last church because of a wedding. We nevertheless felt that we got our money’s worth. We would definitely choose them again.

We visited Puebla because we thought it had that fantastic view of Popocatepetl that you show on your adverts. You do not make it clear
that it is from another place entirely about 2 hrs away. We got a good view from Amecameca where there is a brilliant view from full-glass window at Hacienda Panoaya, a great 9/10 resort with a walk through zoo and Fantastic activities for young and older (zip line) children.
Mexico city had amazing markets, especially the artisenal ones. The balloon rides to Teotihuacan are Amazing. If you look carefully and early enough you can book the same flight for half the price.
Go to Tolontongo, get a 2 day entrance pass at the entrance, and find a hotel to stay onsite for 2nd day. Don't forget swimming costumes and torch.
In Mexico City itself go to Guadelupe, especially if you are a Christian of whatever denomination who would appreciate seeing faith en-mass. Also, if you value family, Mexico is the place to see wonders.
A pretty bland day, it was...

If I would resume this tour, I would say meh. First, it didn’t started nicely, as we wasted like 40min in a parking lot for whatever reason. Because of that, we obviously caught more traffic. In Cholula, we didn’t visited the pyramid, but simply did a quick tour of the church. We couldn’t see the mountains from the top that day: although it was sunny, it was also much too hazy (smog probably). Then we went to Puebla. We only did a boring walk around the old section. We didn’t visited anything in details. All in all, it was not that interesting. It was lacking some stops, to any places of interest where we could learn or taste stuff. The only good thing really would be the tour guide, which was a really nice guy. A shame really.
