Chef Eduardo gave us some historical background on the neighborhood as we began making our way to the market. This was my first time in CDMX and was exactly what i needed to feel more confident in exploring the non-tourist parts of the city. We picked up some agua frescas and gorditas before shopping for our dishes that night. We were given the option of what would be on the menu for our 3 course dinner, and made our way to get the ingredients. He taught us all the tricks on how to pick perfect produce, and picked up his mole powder.
Chef led us to where we would be cooking and we got to work! He gave us the option of what level interaction we wanted to do, and we chose the chef's experience, being fully hands on. I was so concentrated on the tasks at hand and learning i didnt even think to pull out my phone. My bf is proficient in the kitchen but wanted to learn more and thats exactly what chef did. He was respectful, funny, gave REAL feedback and helped when we struggled.
I walked away learning how to make the best salsa, homemade tortillas, mole, and had a wonderful heart to heart about life. If you have any interest in learning about CDMX this is a great intro to the city and the food.
Every dish was an absolute delight. People were literally licking bowls. Don't miss this!!
